In Most categories, eBay charges 13.6% up to $7,500.00, then 2.35% on the rest, plus a per-order fee of $0.30 on orders of $10.00 or less and $0.40 above that. On a $100.00 sale that comes to $14.00 — or $14.35 once the $0.35 insertion fee applies, past the first 250 listings of the month — leaving you $85.65. ### What percentage does eBay take? It depends on what you sell. Most categories pay 13.6% on the sale total, and across eBay's 12 fee categories the opening rate runs from 3% to 15.3%. The fee schedule on this page lists every one of them. ### Does eBay charge fees on shipping? Yes. The final value fee is charged on the total the buyer pays, and the shipping you charged them is part of that total. What shipping actually costs you is separate — it comes off what you keep, but eBay never sees it. ### Does eBay charge fees on sales tax? Yes. eBay collects the sales tax, remits it to the state, and still counts it in the total its final value fee is charged on.
