Etsy Fee Calculator
Etsy’s 6.5% transaction fee skips your sales tax. Its payment processing fee does not — it charges on the whole total. Add them the wrong way and your number is off before you even get to shipping.

From what you keep to what you made
What’s left after fees is not your profit — it is your revenue minus Etsy’s cut. Fill in what the item cost you and the receipt switches: it shows the profit on that sale, and the margin it represents on what the sale brought in. Leave it empty and nothing changes.
Etsy’s fees, line by line
| Fee | Rate | What it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | $0.20 | Per listing, and again at every renewal — regardless of whether it sells. |
| Transaction fee | 6.5% | The displayed price, shipping and gift wrapping. Sales tax is excluded for a US seller. |
| Offsite Ads — below the threshold | 15% | The sale total, only when the sale came from an Offsite Ads listing. Capped at $100.00 per order. Shops under $10,000.00 in trailing 12-month revenue can opt out. |
| Offsite Ads — at or above the threshold | 12% | Same base and cap. Mandatory once a shop crosses $10,000.00 in trailing 12-month revenue — for life, with no opt-out. |
| Payment processing (US payout) | 3% + $0.25 | The total sale — price, shipping and sales tax all included. |
| Currency conversion | +2.5% | Added to the processing rate above when the buyer's currency differs from the seller's payout currency. |
What the calculator does not cover
- Etsy Plus and Pattern subscriptions
- Optional monthly plans with their own listing credits and tools. They cost the same regardless of what you sell, so they do not belong in a per-sale calculation.
- Payment processing outside the US
- Etsy sets the rate by the seller’s payout country, not the buyer’s. This page uses the US rate only.
- Refunds and cancellations
- Have their own handling under Etsy’s policies, and depend on what happens after the sale rather than on the sale itself.
- Etsy Ads you run yourself
- A separate, seller-controlled advertising budget — distinct from Offsite Ads, which Etsy runs and only charges for on a sale it produced.
This is not your Etsy payment account statement. It covers the standard seller fees — listing, transaction, Offsite Ads and payment processing — not Etsy Plus or Pattern subscriptions, not refund or cancellation handling, and not Etsy Ads you choose to run yourself, which is separate from Offsite Ads. Both fee documents were read from a dated Internet Archive capture, because etsy.com serves an anti-bot challenge to automated readers. Check your Etsy account for the amounts actually charged.
