Reverb Fee Calculator
Reverb charges its selling fee on your item and shipping — but its payment processing fee counts the sales tax too. Same sale, two different totals.
Your sale
- Item price
- $650.00
Reverb fees
- Selling fee (5% of $650.00)
- −$32.50
- Payment processing (3.19% + $0.49, on $650.00 incl. tax)
- −$21.23
- Total Reverb fees
- −$53.73
You keep
$596.27
91.7% of the item plus the shipping you charged.
On a $650.00 sale, Reverb’s billing policy says: « You'll be charged $32.50 ($650 x 5%) ». That covers the selling fee alone — payment processing fees are separate, so the $596.27 above is what this calculator works out, not a figure Reverb quotes. Change any field to run your own.

From what you keep to what you made
What’s left after fees is not your profit — it is your revenue minus Reverb’s cut. Fill in what the item cost you and the receipt switches: it shows the profit on that sale, and the margin it represents on the item plus the shipping you charged. Leave it empty and nothing changes.

What the calculator does not cover
- Reverb Bump
- Optional paid promotion for a listing, at a rate the seller chooses — there is no fixed fee to calculate.
- Reverb Safe Shipping
- Reverb publishes a range here, not a single rate, so this calculator does not guess at a figure inside it.
- Shipping labels
- Depend on the carrier and the package, not on the sale price — separate from every fee above.
- PayPal’s own processing fee
- When a buyer pays through PayPal, PayPal charges its own fee on top of Reverb’s — already covered on this site’s own PayPal calculator.
Common questions
How much does Reverb take?
- A 5% selling fee on the item plus shipping, with a floor of $0.50 and a cap of $500.00, plus payment processing of 3.19% and $0.49 for a standard seller. On $100 that totals $8.68, leaving $91.32.
What is Reverb's selling fee?
- 5% of the item price plus shipping. Reverb's own billing policy works it through: a guitar sold for $650 is charged $32.50. That figure is the selling fee alone — Reverb states that payment processing is charged separately, and never publishes the net.
Does Reverb charge fees on sales tax?
- One of its two fees does. The selling fee is charged on the item plus shipping and leaves sales tax out; payment processing is charged on the full order amount, sales tax included. Same sale, two different totals.
Does Reverb charge fees on shipping?
- Yes, on both fees — the shipping you charge the buyer is part of the selling fee base and part of the payment processing base. What the shipping label costs you is separate and comes off what you keep.
This is not your Reverb payout. It covers the standard selling fee, payment processing, and the cross-border fee from Reverb's own fee page and billing policy — not Reverb Bump (optional paid promotion, at a rate you choose), not Reverb Safe Shipping (Reverb gives a range here, not a fixed rate), not shipping label costs, and not PayPal's own processing fee when a buyer pays that way. Check your Reverb payout for the amounts actually charged.
